Jamaluddin Mostaghimi is an Iranian physician. He was born in 1916〔 in Shiraz, Iran. He was the first assistant in the Laboratory of Anatomical Sciences and a leading figure in his field. == Career == He was known as the "Father of Anatomy" in Iran; registering eight international scientific research papers in the field of anatomy, including “Proof of Lack of Communication Between the Brain's Olfactory Bulb,” which was accepted for presentation at the Eighth International Congress on anatomy and dissection in Germany in 1965 . He found two nerve fibers in the brain, "one of which goes to the frontal lobe and the other to the external capsule." Finding and recording the deep layer of the deltoid ligament (which plays an important role in memory) was one of Mostaghimi's greatest contributions. At age 18 he finished medical school in Tehran. Along with an American doctor and a fellow Iranian doctor, he was appointed to construct the dissection laboratory in the Tehran University of Medical Sciences building. In 1979, he was praised as the best doctor in the country. He had numerous publications in the field of basic sciences, the most notable being on autopsy.
